WEEK 2 EOC Stand Your Ground

Fla. Governor Refuses To Revisit "Stand Your Ground" Law

Stand you ground to me is NOT a law at all. In some situation, you know who is wrong and innocent. "I think the Florida law ought to be changed," Nelson said on MSNBC's 'Andrea Mitchell Reports.' "I think where there are the extreme cases, for example, a guy gets into a fight, he leaves, goes to his car, gets a gun and comes back and kills the person he was fighting. To use Stand Your Ground in that circumstance is ridiculous.

This is a very good example. And this is what happened  to the Trayvon's Case. The little boy was innocent but because of this "Stand Your Ground" Law, the guy who killed this little boy was free. There was no any equal justice. And people KNOW who was wrong and innocent.

How one might increase the “expected cost of committing violent crime” is obvious.

This is a chance where people WILL start committing crime. They can try to take something from people or because of personal reasons and get violent and perhaps killed them. And they could be in Trayvon's situation. People can be FREE even when they committed crime. This is NOT a law, how could a law be like this. I mean, if this law do show people what it's use and knowing it is protecting human's right and really give people a RIGHT justice this law would be an awesome law. But we all see that the result is not like that. People are not feeling safe with this law anymore or even their environment.

I think the law needs to be considerably tightened," he added. "Maybe down the road we do need to change (Florida's) law and similar ones in other states these and completely eliminate them, but in the meantime, they need to be severely constricted.

Some people said stand your ground is a law that shows our self-controlling. But as my point of view, I don't take it the same way. If this law is really about showing our self-controlling, then a lot of people are not qualify. There is no justice towards this case and this law.
